The Variety Show

This morning is my very last doctor's appointment regarding el wrist injury. It's pretty fitting, actually, considering that yesterday the 15th was the 1-year anniversary of the initial injury. This morning I'm going over the results of my functional capacity exam with my surgeon, who will tell me the percentage of disability assessed. From here, I'm expecting things with Workers Comp to finally start rolling, so hopefully I'll have an idea of what the future will bring pretty soon here.

I also finally chose between the two nursing schools that I've been waffling over. The one I chose is a state school, and while it'll take me an hour to drive there, it's a fraction of the cost of the private school. It's also a different program, so I'll be attending part time over the next two years, starting in Fall 2011. There are a few science courses that I need to take, so I deferred my enrollment to this coming spring, when I'll take Human A&P I and Medical Microbiology.

And that means I have five more months to finish revising my novel, get it to my CPs and beta readers, and figure out what the hell to do next.

Also, NaNoWriMo '10! Yay!

I've been thinking about the blog recently, and how I've been feeling utterly uninspired for topics to post about, so I think I'm going to start branching out a bit into other interests. Writing will always be my main focus, but there's other stuffs that I like too, ya know? And some of it might even be beneficial.

Coming up this Wednesday, a spin on a feature...

WTF? (is in my cupboard?)

Glad things are good with the writst and you have a plan with school.
I've been uninspired lately on the blog too so I've been blogging less and writing more. I guess that's a good thing.
I'm halfway through what you sent and will finish soon.
Sorry for the delay. :)
Talk to you soon.
Take care.

Glad you've lined up school for next year.
And new blog topics will keep it fresh for you. As you know, I blog about a lot of things.

I loved my human A&P class!! Dissection baby! Does that make me morbid? I just found it incredibly fascinating and you know, necessary for my degree. :D

my sister is starting nursing school in a couple of weeks. I hope I never have to go back but I may anyway. Sigh.

GOOD LUCK at your doctor's!! I hope you'll have something concrete medically to know what to do next!! Big hugs!

And great too that you've chosen which school to go to. I hope that works out ok.

And look! It's given you a deadline to finish your novel! That's something to work towards - and a great motivator too.

As for the blogging - I think it's best asset is that, once you've set it up, it'll always be here as and when you wish to use it for whatever. And the thing with inspiration is that you never know when it'll hit!

Have a great Monday! Take care

Blog about whatever you like ... we'll keep reading. That's awesome about school. I'm trying to get in to North GA in Dahlonega, but it's taking forever for them to process my app.

Good luck at the doc today...let me know what they tell you. *crossing my fingers for good news*

How are the kitties doing?

When you're done with nursing school, can I call you Nurse Ratchet?

Will your husband call you his (dirty) Head Nurse?

Okay, I'll go away now.

Five more months!! That's great! From your novel's point of view anyway :)

Good luck with your surgeon too. I hope it all works out how you want it to :)

So. . . I think a lot of people are feeling blegh with their blogs. I am. . . I will gladly read anything you post about. Looking forward to seeing what's in your cupboard.

Hey I have a little snippet I was hoping you could take a look at if you have time and still want to. :)

Good luck with everything. I hope your injury can be helped. I had surgery on one of my wrists also, technically I'm not supposed to work alot of time on the computer, but I'm a writer...

Sounds like you have a plan! I hope you love nursing school. It was my original idea that I wanted to be a nurse, and then I saw what all they did and.... I decided I didn't want to be a nurse anymore. My gross out factor is set way too high.

Good luck with the assessment. Deciding on a school is such an accomplishment and bless your heart! I could never be a nurse-I couldn't dissect anything ever again, shudder. Good luck and curious about the branching out....

It's great that you have a plan - and time to finish your novel. Hope the appointment with your doc went well! And good luck with nursing school - it's so exciting to be standing in front of a new challenge.

Good luck with your wrist and with nursing school! I don't think it's a problem at all if you start branching out on your blogging topics. I'm actually considering starting a non-writing blog alongside my regular one for other interests.

Also -- I hope you don't mind, I'm starting a blog series inspired by your "Blast from the Past" post last month. I will link you for credit. Hope that's okay!

Ouch...an hour drive is a lot. But totally worth it if that's the school for you!!

I bet your crit partners are pacing back and forth waiting to get their hands on your manuscript! Ya think?

And new stuff...fun!!

I hope your doctor's appointment went well and everything turns out good with your wrist. I can't even believe it's almost time for NaNo again - it seems like I just did that!

I love that picture with the kitty on your lap as you're reading. That is one comfy cat!

ooh yeah, branching out on topics really helps me with my blog.
Also, an hour commute, i've always found, helps A LOT with novel writing since you can get so much brainstorming done
