I'm Amongst Them

Dear Blog Readers,

As you are reading this message, I will be hip-deep in high schoolers. Part of my program is performing "service learning," or community service. This semester I'll be helping a local high school nurse take part in a nationwide incentive to combat childhood obesity by measuring BMI's of students.

I'll admit, I'm a little dubious. Most high schoolers are taller than me, and I've been told I look 16 (though I really don't think that's true. Maybe 20, but not 16. I didn't have these boobs at 16, but I digress...).

It's been a long time since I've been around so many teenagers. Like, um, 2004, when I graduated high school? Yeah.

Should be interesting!

Great writing fodder. Just keep that in mind. I hated teenagers when I was a teenager, so you can imagine how I feel now. Lol!

OMG!!!!...how are we such good friends?!
You graduated HIGH SCHOOL in 2004?! Sheesh...now I feel SOOOO OLD. I mean, 2004 was like, yesterday and um we've had our Beta fish since 2004 and he's still alive! Dude.

But, yeah, you're an old soul and I'm still 21 in my head, so it all works out.

You'll have fun...those kids'll love you. :)

It will be interesting. And I'm sure you'll be shocked by all the kids with high BMI's.

When I was 20, everyone said I looked like I was 12. "That's fine", I said. "When I'm 40, I'll look like I'm only 32."

Too bad it didn't work out that way! :D

Have fun!

Oh, lord, I hope you survived! I always thought the hardest job in the whole wide world would be to work with high schoolers :-)

2204?! jebus you're young. I mean, not like super younger than me, actually, it just sounds like it compared to my 1999.

Well, Summer, did you survive the experience? Did they think you were a Narq? *laughs*
