I Wanna Know

I'm starting to think that the stress of not knowing what your living situation will be not only trumps, but also magnifies all other stress. The smallest things suddenly become Very Important OMG, and I run around thinking How Is This All Going To Work Out?

I don't have a closing date. My contract says on or before June 1. We're moving 45 miles away, so we'd really been hoping to have several days to trickle it out over, especially since there are some minor painting things we'd like to do before all our stuff is there. Our landlord has a family waiting to move in to our apartment.

My in-laws are going to let us crash with them temporarily, if need be, and that's where my worries start to pile up. What will I do with our furniture? How will our now THREE cats get along with their THREE cats? Especially the stray whom I haven't gotten neutered yet because I was waiting until we moved so he'd have an indoor place to recover? What about all our food in the fridge/freezer?

*stress*

And then I started having writing angst. I finished reading through my first draft of Four, talked over some revision idea with Evan, and then began to wonder if this was really the novel I want to put my heart and soul into right now. At this point, with all my other stress, I can't even differentiate between legit concerns and plain ol' fear.

Also, the mosquitoes are here in Georgia. I'm a mosquito magnet like you wouldn't believe. And yesterday it reached 95, and they're showing temps in the 90's all week.

I'm sorry if this sounds complainy. Sometimes it's nice to write it out. I just really want to know something.

However, in happy news, I noticed that I'm just shy of 500 followers! Holy moses! Never thought I'd see that day. You guys are one of the most integral parts of my routine now, and frankly I have a hard time remember life BB (before Blogger). Not sure if I can afford to run a contest per norm...mayhap I shall send a random box of packed stuff to a lucky person! ;)

Buying a house can be so stressful. I had to move in with my parents after I first got married to save up for a house.
We put furniture in storage, our kitties came with us and they did not like my mom's kitties. The good part was my parents have an apartment/in law suite in their house so I could block the kitties from interaction.
Somehow it will all work out. Take one step at a time.
As for the writing, when stress takes over for me, writing doesn't flow. You may have to do pieces slowly until you're settled.
Just my thoughts.
Oh and congrats on the almost 500, holy cow.
I, also, can't remember life before blogger. Scary thought.
Hang in there.

*Hugs* Moving is SO stressful. But it will all work out, and it's going to be so worth it. :)

Just put the writing away for now and concentrate on the move. Storage is called that for a reason. And the kitties can always stay locked in a bedroom when you get to your in-laws. Don't sweat the small stuff and go with the flow. If you don't, you know things will always be harder than you need them to be.

And you can always put stuff in storage 45 miles away for the time being. all you really need to move in is a bed and coffee pot.

Stop, sit down, take a deep breath; now don't that feel better?! Moving is a chore that requires stress but just like stuff in a box it can be managed one item at a time.

Fabric softner sheets are what my mom uses to ward off those pests, myself? I must smell bad. :)

Aw, hang in there Summer.

Maybe you can rent a moving truck, and keep it for a few days to store your furniture before you move in? Though that could be super expensive, I don't actually know :( Or maybe a storage unit, IF push came to shove?

ALSO, do you have an Avon store anywhere? They have this Skin So Soft spray that 1) smells awesome (in my opinion) and 2) works REALLY well to keep mosquitos and bugs away... I'm going to pick some up this week because holy hell I got eaten ALIVE this weekend...

ugh. moving stress in indeed up there pretty high. But the good thing is, in a few weeks, it will all be gone. Heck, it might be gone in a few days!
Maybe you shoudl set Four aside until the moving stuff is done. Then you can look at it with a more stress free attitude

I've always been the kind of person who can roll with whatever comes my way...as long as I know what's coming! The fear of the unknown is a huge stressor for me!
Hang in there, it will all work out!

Awe! Try not to stress! What good ever came from worry anyway! You just make yourself crazy and it doesn't actually help anything. Everything will work out fine, and once you're moved and settled you will look around one day and go "well that wasn't so bad!"

If you can't control it, don't worry about it. And you're just one away from 500!

It's so stressful moving house, because there are so many finicky little details that run through your head like rats on speed! Wishing you plenty of calmness...

I like how you end on a positive note! Happy almost 500 followers!

Take it one step at a time. I always tell myself time will pass whether I do it all or do nothing at all. So I pick 'do it all', cause I'll be happier with the outcome. Congrats on the followers!
