The apartment in which I will not be living much longer has ledges built into the walls around chair-rail height. These ledges are about 5 inches wide--perfect width for cat butts.
Mack the boy cat lives to walk across my desk. Over and over, blocking my view. Occasionally stopping to try and eat my plants. Knocking my candles onto the floor. Stepping on whatever is on my desk--paper, sandwich, whatever. All in the pursuit of looking out the windows...
This is pretty much our daily routine. Especially if I'm eating--the effort goes up a few notches.
I've decided that I'm tired of waiting for my hubby to finish my rough draft of FOUR before I read it. He has 13% left, and that's close enough, right? So I'm going to start reading today. Let's see, it's been...28 days since I finished? Yes. So, a February has gone by, and I think that's enough time.
Last night I started to chicken out about revisions. I'm a big coward when it comes to revisions--I get so many ideas that they start snarling in my head until I feel like beating it against the wall. That's usually when I scrap the revision idea and start on a new draft.
But not this time. Thankfully, my stalwart CPs (Lola, Portia, and Tara) are there to talk me away from the ledge. Last night I kept my breakdown limited to just my hubby, and he snapped me out of it well enough, but I know I'm going to need hand-holding. Turns out I'm a little bitch baby when it comes to revisions. (I got the phrase "bitch baby" from Grey's Anatomy and I love it.)
Oh, and what's all this about the world ending and such on Saturday? I have plans on Saturday, thanks.

well, let's get serious here. The world's only ending for some people. The rest of us will still be here.
Also, i LMAO about "bitch baby" and now i'm going to use it.
And don't worry about the revisions. Just take them one step at a time. They'll get done faster than you think
Huh. The world better NOT end before my book comes out. If it does, I'll show somebody "bitch baby," all right! ;)
Hang in there with your revisions. The right changes will come to you. :)
I hate revisions something fierce. I am about to try something completely different. I have to finsih a third book in a series. This means the stand alone book I am about to finish is going to get set aside when I am done while I write the third book. I will then come back and revise it later.
I am guessing I will still hate revising it. Doesn't help that it has ended up the longest book I have ever written.
Throw me some of your revision ideas if you have too many! And I have plans for Saturday as well. Should I cancel?
No, no, it isn't ending on Saturday... I heard Sunday. XD
I hate revisions, mainly because I am the same way. I go through and say, "Oh! I HAVE to mention this!" or "How could I forget that fact!?" when in all actuality it does not pertain to the story, just the history of the world which SHOULD be picked up on slowly.
I have far too much world information to share in my writing and just want to bore the reader to death with it. XD
Enjoy Saturday!
Awww I'd ask super duper Mack if there's any truth about the world ending this weekend!! He looks like a cat who is in the KNOW! LOL!! Awww hugs to him and gorgeous sister too!!
Yay for being a bitch baby! What a phrase!! LOL!!! Good luck with your revisions - just do like the Mack - he goes straight in there and to hell with the consequences so long as he has a great view. Ahem. Yes, I know feeble analogy but Mack's adorable! take care
x
Now see, it isn't Mack's fault you perfectly placed a desk between two windows. AND placed plants and other goodies on the path.
You've def waited long enough...time to spend some time with me here in Revision Hell! (inset evil laughter)
The water's nice and warm... (okay, okay, blistering hot, fetid sewage, but still...), join me, won't you?
Also, in the words of Jack Black in School of Rock: You aren't hardcore unless you live hardcore!
Love,
Lola
I love cats BECAUSE they are evil. Also, Grey's has all sorts of wisdom :D
Yay for revisions! I know that feeling of all the ideas crashing around inside your head--hang in there! It'll all get sorted out, I promise. Also, yes, I'm adding "bitch baby" to my daily language.
A February has gone by...love that! And the evilness is to make you laugh. I'm sure of it. (Okay, I hope it is, because otherwise, Roo is just terrible!)
I'm finding I'm a big wimp with editing/revision. It's probably why I'm still working on the first wip instead of fixing the nano. Sigh....
What's this about the world ending Saturday?!!!!
Wow, what a great hubby, even if he is slow. Mine doens't read fiction, and I know he wouldn't read mine. YA for girls just isn't his thing. ;)
The world ending Saturday only applies to the chosen few, so I don't think I have anything to worry about.
Good luck on the revisions. I'm sure the right changes will come to you.

Good luck with your revisions! I'm in the mire of revisions right now. It's hard to dive in, but once you're there... well, I'll let you find out, hehe!
The world did not end in NY, how about where you are:)
I constantly battle an evil human-in-cat-form as well, so surely this world-ending business won't be that big of a deal...
Although, if it doesn't end, that means my revisions will still be waiting for me on Monday...rats.
(Yes, I'm a bitch baby about revisions too.)
he he love the detailed schematic illustration :)
