Tell the Truth Tuesday

I have some this week, so I'll do it.

1. As a coping mechanism for my nursing school nerves, I've been playing a gross amount of Dragon Age on my Xbox. A gross amount, guys. It's possible that I'm slightly in love with one of the characters. The thing about Bioware games is that they're basically like an interactive book, the writing is THAT GOOD.

2. I ate a can of beans for lunch yesterday.

3. Last night I dreamed that I performed karaoke to the soundtrack of my latest WIP.

4. I've gotten to the point where I only put on real clothes if I'm going out. I'm not sure I remember how to dress like a fully functioning member of society anymore.

5. I've been thinking about what to wear to nursing school orientation on Thursday for at least a week now. And still don't know.

6. I'm afraid I won't make any friends in nursing school. How lame is that?

7. Last night I woke up because one of the cats was clawing my hair.

8. I secretly hope my brother-in-law and his fiancee don't find jobs in Maryland so they can move back down here and take the pressure off me and hubby. (I knowwww....so bad.)

9. I pretty much paint my fingernails just so I can scrape it off. I think it's as bad an addiction as biting them.

10. I went running in knee-high socks yesterday. They were compression socks, true, but knee-highs all the same!

Your turn:

I don't think I can top yours, at least not with anything I'm willing to admit to publicly. *grin*

But I do know you're worrying needlessly about #6 -- you will make some great friends! How could you not? :)

I've been guilty of n4. And I'm still biting my nails, so I don't even bother painting them.

And about making friends, of course you'll make good ones!

Dragon Age I or II? I LOVE the new one, but I couldn't really get into the first one. The inventory was just too jacked, and the fighting sucked. Great story though.

1. Is that like when I had a very boring office job and developed a bizarre relationshiop with the Microsoft paperclip guy?

6. UBER LAME! You're awesome!

8. We have also thought about abandoning state so we don't get saddled w/the 'rents (dirty, dirty secret)

That is a lot of beans!

You will make friends, who doesn't dig a gamer chick.

My cat will sit up and meow in the middle of the night. I think she is an insomniac, probably comes from me.

Ah, don't mention biting nails. I have been trying to quit.

Did they have stripes, Pippy?

Thanks for the post. I enjoyed it.

Ohh... I'll play along.

Truth:
I've been trying to be all cool and collected about this new guy I've been seeing but in reality, I obsessively check my phone and it never leaves my side. And I'm continually refreshing my email. In theory, I'm supposed to be too old for this type of high school behavior and yet, here I am. le sigh...

Good luck with nursing school!

Okay, I really need to mop all of the floors in my house. It's been months. But why bother when everybody keeps tracking more dirt back in here?

I try my best to avoid video games--I know I would get sucked in! Good luck with nursing school orientation! I'm sure it will be awesome.

Some computer games ARE better than books!
As for what to wear, I recommend clothes.

You're awesome -- and I say that with the confidence that comes with having hung out with you {i}vis-à-vis{/i}. But I feel a little #6 whenever I'm starting an adventure with new faces, so I get it. Just lay off the beans so you don't have to worry about making friends and flatulence all on the same day.

My truths for today: I'm sitting here in my gym clothes, but I never went to the gym. And to make matters worse, I ate cottage cheese and tomatoes for lunch (healthy), followed by two quadruple stuffed Oreos (which I make by removing the lids of FOUR Oreos and putting the cream sides together to create TWO cookies. And yes, I also ate the lids.) {i}Le sigh.{/i}

I'll take your #4 and raise you: I've gotten to the point where I don't even put on real clothes when I do go out....unless it's for dinner or something nice-ish.
I mean the post office and grocery store and Barnes & Noble and such? Psh. They get me in sweats and a t-shirt or shorts and a tank. And flip flops. (in the winter: sweats, shirt, hood and Uggs.)

We won't even talk about your socks. *shudders*

I was going to tell you that if you bump into someone named Rian Garcia on Xbox, that's my 13 year old. He plays a gross amount, too. Unfortuanately, he plays Halo and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Sad to say but I chew my nails, too. I wish I didn't. I hate it.
I assure you that I am properly dressed as I pen this comment, although the shirt is a Van Halen Balance Tour concert t-shirt. I am also having my third glass of wine, but it's White Zin. It's pratically Kool-Aid for adults.

I work at a college with a nursing school...you REALLY don't need to worry about what to wear to orientation. Okay, maybe wear real pants to orientation. But for classes, pajama pants and a hoodie seem to be acceptable.
