Uh Oh.

I found a kitten in the Walmart parking lot this morning.
Updates to follow.

Okay, updates, as promised:

I talked to my landlord, and he agreed that we could nurse the kitteh back to health while I try to find it a good home. She's really dehydrated and malnourished, but otherwise seems to be in good health.

E came home at lunch and met her...He's a sucker for whiney cats, and she's whiney to beat all, so she had him wrapped around her little claw immediately.

I figure we'll keep her around for a few weeks and once I get some meat on her, I'll take her to my shelter and run the FeLV/FIV test and give her her first round of FVRCP boosters. Best case scenario is that my in-laws decide that they really do need an outside cat to keep the rabbits out of the garden. Worst case scenario is that I take her to my shelter and she finds a good home there.

No name yet...but we're thinking. :-)

Awww!!! My husband brought home a kitten once...found it outside his work. As much as we wanted to, we couldn't keep it. Had to take it to a shelter.

Aw, good for you for rescuing the cat! I hope your in-laws take her....I'd hate for her to have to go to a shelter....if that ends up being the case, make sure it's no-kill!!!!

How cute! Two of my cats were kittens that we found. They have a way of finding their owners!

Sir Didymus! That'd be awesome. :D
My husband found one of our cats at his work when they were trying to catch a rat eating the insulation. They used a live trap, of course. But Osiris was the little spitting ball of fur he discovered instead. lol!

Good for you Summer! I knew I really liked you... taking a kitty in and nursing her back to health, that's fantastic! Don't forget to update us on about her and her potential name!

What an awesome landlord!

Awww, she's a little cute thing.

(maybe the landlord will meet her and let you keep her?? You've spiffed up the yard so nicely and all...:)

Aw! And yay for you! I wish more people would help out the animals they see. (Then I wouldn't have six cats of my own. My house is a magnet for strays, and I don't have the heart to take them to a shelter when all it costs me is an annual vet appointment and a daily bowl of cat food. Plus they're good mousers.)

Between you and Justine Dell I may just break down and get a kitten!

SO CUTE!

More photos, please.

Sooooo sad! Good thing you found the kitty. We have so many who dump animals, mostly dogs. That's how we ended up with so many.

Cute kitty! Can't wait to adopt when we return from vacation. It's the first thing the kids and I will do when we readjust to the time change!

Best of luck with the little guy :)

Don't do it! You name that kitten, she's yours. Investing money in her really makes her yours. (I learned this this hard way.)

And your landlord won't let you have a CAT? Tell him it's an exotic gerbil.

Awww! I rescued my cat as a newborn after her mother was hit by a car. I have a heart for rescues. Even if you don't keep the cat, it's just so sweet that you picked her up and are taking care of her!
