Week in Review (Week 13)

Things that have happened:

1. Passed the 25k mark on my WIP.

2. Really enjoyed the newborn transition rotation & I saw a cesarean section. I gave a one-hour-old baby vaccines and I bathed him. Awesome! I guess I have a hard heart (not) because I didn't mind giving a baby a shot. Not one bit.

3. Making some strides on the future job hunt.

4. Hubby and I got a puppy!

Ripley

Cute puppy!

And you don't have a hard heart--you know the shot is for the baby's good, and any hesitation on your part would not be good for the baby. :)

Seems to me like not being afraid to give a baby his vaccines is exactly what you need to do the job! Something happens when a job like that needs done. I'm so squirmy and get faint really easily, so I thought I'd last only minutes working with dental patients in Haiti, but I didn't get queasy or turn away even once. There must be something in our brains that lets us shut down the emotional response to that sort of thing.

Aw! So glad to hear from you! Your puppy looks just like how my dog Atticus looked. Same coloring and floppy ears! Love the name Ripley.

How was watching the c-section? I quite enjoyed watching the operation I was able to stand in on. On my c-section, my husband only had to say "There was a lot of red... I saw your guts and it makes me feel weird".

Keep us updated, Fancy Lady!

Aw, Ripley. I love all of your pictures of him. It makes me want to swim in a pool of puppies.
