The past 2 weeks really have made me question if nursing school was the right choice. Nothing I can specifically put my finger on, and hopefully something that will go away as my knowledge base and skills set improves.
I'm in the critical few days before my next nursing fundamentals exam. Time has shrunk so that each hour only lasts for 5 minutes, and it's exponentially related to how much $*&#% I have to get done by next Wednesday, October 12.
So why the #@$% am I on Blogger? GOOD QUESTION.
Mostly because I need a quick break from typing out my notes on Oxygenation!
So my test on Monday will cover 11 chapters of fundamentals, 3 chapters of medical math, and 3 chapters of medical terminology!
Fundamentals chapters this time around include 3 over community-based nursing, oxygenation in regards to respiratory function, safety, body mechanics and mobility, disaster preparedness, sensory and cognitive processes, asepsis and infection control!
No, these things don't really go together. Yes, it makes it more difficult to remember it all. Sort of.
Anyway, this video sums up how I'm feeling pretty well:
Cheers!

Obviously you just need to go eat a pie in the shower. ;)
Hang in there! You'll get through it. :)
You can do it!! Just don't go crazy. :P
Yes...pie! It is the answer to ALL things sucky (and not so sucky).
Anywhoodles, I know you'll do fine on all your tests.
As for whether nursing is the right choice for you, only you can answer that. You know in your heart if it is or not.
(I know for me it'd be a BIG FAT HELL NO. I don't do smelly, yucky, bodily fluids or needles or germs or pus or...ew ew eewwww.)
You'll kick ass. :) It's what you do.
You've got a full plate there...in more ways than one. We'll keep our cyber-fingers crossed for you until the 12th....
LOL!!! Sorry but that clip was hilarious!! LOL!! Now, Summer!! You can do this, you will do this, and by golly it will be done!! Yay!!!
Go, Girrrrrrrrrrrl!! Take care
x
Ah, good luck! I know how you feel about those moments (or DAYS) of doubt but it does get better as things keep moving. You'll do great!
You need a let your hair down and drink everything in sight night. Make time for some fun. You have to enjoy life. If you don't you will go as loony as that chick did and we can't have the Summer with a broke noggin.
Best.
Yeah, school is tough. Take a deep breath and dive back in. It'll be over soon.
And at least you have new episodes of SPN to keep you distracted for 45 minutes. ;)
That clip rocks. Been there, although I think it involved a bag of Oreos and a bottle of wine. You'll make it through, and you will do awesome. Because you know what they call the person who graduates last in their nursing school class? R.N. (That's an old med school joke!)
Good luck with the &$@#^$-ing studying, Summer. You can do it! The hardest goals to achieve in life are the only ones that teach up what we're made of, what we're capable of, and just how much we $%#&@#-ing ROCK! So you have to shove pie down your throat in the shower and replace a few mirrors. I say, whatever it takes, baby. Whatever it takes. :D
Can't wait 'til the 12th has passed! Until then, hang in there!
I'm going to go out on a psychoanalysis limb here and suggest that the committee in your head hasn't been able to dog you about writing, so it's switching it's focus to questioning your ability and desire to do the nursing thing. Take a break, go write something, let the committee chew on that for a while so you can get back to studying!
Hang in there!
I know it's tough, but stick with it. I had a similar period in flight school where I wondered whether sticking with the program was really the right thing for me.
I think that moment is baked into the cake. An high-pressure experience like this is gonna help you grow, personally, professionally, all of the above--and I think that puts the should-I-stay-or-should-I-go germ of an idea in the brain.
Give it some time. And good luck. I can tell you're kicking ass all the way over here. :D
stick with it. You have plenty of time to change your mind later, but it's too soon right now to back out. It could just be your flight response kicking in (mine is out of control) and it would suck to give up on something just because of a stupid instinctual thing.
I know you're gonna be awesome at it
Hang in there! We all are always here to support you.
Hang in there- you can do it!
