On Soulless Things

Do any of you fans of The Office recall the episode "Safety Training"? The one where they have the first aid instructor come in, and Dwight ends up "harvesting the organs" of the dummy and then wearing its face like Hannibal Lector? One of the funniest scenes of the show, in my opinion.

Well, today it's my turn. I'm getting some hot dummy action.

I Googled pictures of CPR dummies, but they were all so creepy in their own ways that I couldn't bear to bring them into this safe place. I have this fear of dolls that kinda links with my fear of clowns (my cousins had a doll clown that was pretty much Satan in the batting). With that fear in mind, I'd kinda like to let a couple of the dummies die, but I doubt the instructor would see my point of view.

Even worse, today is basically the last feasible day for any of us nursing students to get this CPR certification, and the instructor said the class is really full. So I'm going to be stuck in a room full of dummies for about four and a half hours.

Oh, boy. I can't wait.

Speaking of soulless things, Evan and I started watching The Walking Dead this week. Besides the obvious interest, it's also filmed in Atlanta. And it's always fun to watch things filmed near where you live, right? We've only finished the first half of season one, but so far I give it five stars. The creepiness of the first episode was on par with the best zombie movies, which made husband uncomfortable at the prospect of an entire show like that, but the good news is that it focuses more on the characters and their situation after the first episode. I highly recommend!

In other thoughts, I somehow managed to let the household run out of both milk and bodywash. Those aren't related.

Happy hump day!

I LOVED The Walking Dead. But those dummies are way creepier than the zombies!

Yay for The Walking Dead! Hot damn i love a good zombpoc.
Ironically, you probably could have used milk for bodywash. But not the other way around. *shakes head solemnly*

Have you ever seen that Twilight Zone episode where the little girl switches places with her doll? *shudders* I saw it at an impressionable age, and have been creeped out by dolls ever since.

I'm getting the Walking Dead in the mail today!! Squee!! I will be spending the night with zombies and serial killers (Criminal Minds is on later).

I don't like creepy dolls...yet, I love them. I watched this HK horror flick called DOLLS. It was very creepy.

Also, CPR training is fun!! I loved it. First Aid training seems like common sense to me but I've watched a ton of TV and studied anatomy/physiology stuff before that class. Have fun!!

p.s.
don't turn your back on the dummies.

I remember practicing CPR on Resus (sp?) Annie when I was silly enough to go for a First Aid certificate years ago. First person did his mouth to mouth on Annie then it was my turn. All the instructor did was wipe Annie's mouth with tissue dripping in alcohol before making me do my bit! EWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

Anyway!!! Those dummies are so Children of Chuck!! Ewwwwwwwww!!

Good luck with your CPR certification!!!! Take care

Nice little post. I love The Walking Dead. It's a great show, worthy of watching more than once.

Nursing programs take forever for people to get into around here. Good luck with your CPR.

And don't wash your body with the milk.

Porcelain dolls creep me out like you wouldn't believe.

As for the Walking Dead. Love the show and hope they bring it back for another season or two. (Hugs)Indigo

You are not alone. Dolls are pretty freaking scary. I remember learning CPR in health class and having to demonstrate on a dummy. It wasn't that creepy. Then again, I wasn't alone in the room with it. :P

Good luck with your certification!

Hope you survive the dummies. And milk and body wash COULD be related...

I hope the training went well...and none of the dummies turned into Chucky. o_0

Yeah, we watched Walking Dead as it aired...it started out excellent but by the end it got a bit boring with too much drama and not enough zombies.
I hope next season will be good. I heard S. King will be writing an episode. :)
