Support Team (lots of pictures)

If you didn't believe me before, I think the Significant Others blogfest really proved what a great, supportive man I married. He likes to tell people that I'm a writer, and he has never once begrudged me for spending time with my keyboard and fantasy men rather than with him.

   =     WIN

But I share my home with two others.

These two aren't quite as supportive, especially when it comes to my writing. In fact, if they just had some opposable thumbs, I'm pretty sure I'd come into my office one morning and discover the strewn-about bits of my computer all over the floor.

Say on the rare occasion I actually feel like being a good writer. I pull out my notebook and pen (Pentel R.S.V.P. extra-fine all the way) and sit at my desk, ready to make some character notes, or maybe plan out a chapter...

Ahhh...sleepy time!

So maybe I not-so-gently remove the offender and settle in for some serious thinking. I'm doing great, really on a roll, and out of nowhere...

This is the best spot in the house

I try to write around him, and:

Best-tasting pen ever!

In their defense, they don't limit these helpful actions to writing. No, they're pretty equal opportunity.

Trying to install new software:

You don't need to use the wizard with me around.

Painting:

The perspective is off.

Re-organizing bookshelves?

Heehee! Guess what this will look like after we crawl out?

Coming back to the office to work:

Whaddya mean, this is your chair? I don't think so.

Printing homework:

All your page are belong to us.

Trying to put something together?

Woodglue = ambrosia!

Doing laundry:

You should clean out this vent.

Also:

This pile of clean clothes > your lap. Times infinity.

Putting clothes away?

These shirts are so last-season.

Cleaning the bathroom?

There are cobwebs in the corner. Also, this towel is now dirty. I won't say why.

Can't live with them, can't live without them.

Have some great (or not so great) support in your life? :)

Those are some damn cute cats. I'd imagine even when they're annoying they're still overwhelmingly adorable :)

So cute. I have pictures of our cat sitting on the keyboard. Now that it is winter she lounges next to the heater by my feet when I work, and if I shift and accidentally touch her, a get a squall of protest.

So cute!! My cat always lies down in the dryer drum while I shove wet clothes in from the washer. She doesn't mind when they hit her, or cover her up. Completely. Cats are weird. I love them!

Aww...wonderful piccies of scrumptious cats. I need to grow longer arms to comfortably reach the keyboard of my laptop as I often have *help* writing.

Oh, this is too funny! I love it!!!! Okay, I'll admit this is part reason why we don't have a cat. The other reason is that my husband doesn't like them (much to my daughter's dismay). Plus I get up at 5 am, and I know from experience a cat will assume that means I got up to feed him when, really, I only got up to write or blog. Cat feeding would have to wait until everyone else gets breakfast.

Those are great! I have 3 of the other variety, dogs. I get interrupted by balls being dropped on the keyboard or circle "I need to go out" dance :)

My god! Your grey and white cat looks just like ours, only younger, and less mean.

They are both adorable!

I love your support team.

Cats do seem to love mischief and sleeping in piles of clean clothes. :)

Hugs and love,
Lola

Let me know when you have a minute and I'll call you. K?

This post is AWESOME! Also, i want to see that painting you were working on. It looks adorable.
Luckily, the dogs actually give me a lot of writerly support as long as there's room for them to sit next to me.
Though, if it makes you feel better, George has been howling for the last 5 minutes. At nothing.

I usually try not to succumb to cute kitty blogposts but there were some pretty good shots in here.

I had to laugh when I read this - we have two cats, sisters, niether of which has opposable thumbs. I did get up one morning and find they'd been scratching keys out of the keyboard and throwing them all over the floor. Not good on a notebook computer - it was never the same again!

Great photos

Your cats are too frickin' adorable! I have a deaf white one who likes to ride the sweeper, attack your shoe laces as you are tying them, and of course, lay on the keyboard or notebook---which ever I am using at the time.

If I ignore him, he licks and bites my arm! Supportive cast indeed! LOL

Too cute! I especially enjoy the pen attacking villain!

Oh, I also totally love that Shakespeare is being used as a monitor stand. :D

Oh my god, they are SO CUTE! Who cares how disruptive they are? I'm so jealous... I still really miss my Buffy cat, but I think maybe I'm ready for some adorable new kittens.

Thanks for the laugh today - there's no way you can look at such adorable, mischievous kitties and not feel happy!

I absolutely adore your cats!

But forgive me if I don't show your pictures to my cats, it might give them bad ideas. So far they're pretty well behaved when it comes to allowing me to get things done. :-)
