Day Four

I'm noticing some interesting parallels between this year and last year's NaNo projects.

One: set in a future dystopian world.

Two: It's cold and snowing in the opening scene.

Three: Female MC is emotionally stunted over the death of her partner/lover

Four: Male MC is taciturn and snarly, though with a soft nougaty core.

Come to think of it, a lot of my ideas are about women whose lovers have been brutally murdered or in some way taken away from them.
Hm. Wonder what this says about me.

Poor Evan.

Yeah, if I were your husband, I'd be a little concerned...

My crit partner pointed out that two of the four story lines I've tossed at her in the past six months have a dead bad guy husband. Hmmm.

LOL! that's crazy. haha, hm ok, if I ever meet you, I'll make sure I tell my hubbie to stay home. Wouldn't want you actively research your ideas and end up writing about me ... ;o) LOL

oh, oh, I adore future dystopian worlds and books beginning with snow and blizzards!!!

I do think most writers are chewing on themes and ideas that have greatly affected them in the past. It's funny that you live in Georgia yet you write about snow... a hankering to play in the cold white snowdrifts, perhaps?
Keep on keepin' on! I firmly believe that whatever evokes your own passion will also interest others.

Oh I agree with Catherine, most of us have pet themes we are sometimes unaware of...even when we think the story is a lot different from the others.

Dude, you're kicking my ass on word count...but today I'm gonna try to catch up...BUT I NEED theme song! I can't find one and it's stunting my creativity.
Help?

Haha, aw, that's awful! I hope your husband doesn't take it personally :)

And I thought my husband should be suspicious of me watching 'Snapped' on Oxygen all the time. LOL

I find nothing wrong with a little brutal death in a novel.

Can't beat it if its a good idea. Sounds great to me!
Amazing progress!!

Shall we put Evan under police protection now or... Hehe.
I hope NaNo is going well for you :) I'm steadily closing the gap for my day of loss, which is good. I'd already written the first three chapters about a year back, so rewriting them for NaNo meant I knew the progression of the plot. Now I'm in the deep end, who knows what the hell will happen, hehe.

I'm laughing and I can just hear my husband telling me I better not be killing off any husbands in my stories!
