Day 17

Yesterday I spent a good majority of the day driving around like a mad woman in order to get a tag for our new car. First I had to get the address on my driver's license changed (to our resident county), which required me going to the next town about 16 miles over.

DMV wasn't too bad, but then as I was leaving, I ended up turning left instead of right...and the next thing I knew, I saw this:

Welcome to South Carolina!

It was an honest mistake, and a lot easier to do than one might think. The county where I got the driver's license borders the state lines, so...yeah. I drove an extra 16 miles out of my way. Woot.

Then I had to drive all the way back to the house for a pit stop (read: pee break), gather my crap, and go to the tag office.

Anyway, I finally got the tag and now the new Honda's all legal and shizz.

Prior to all that nonsense, I was in a terrible mood. I spent the morning slamming around, yelling at the cats, and feeling mad about the lack of storage in our apartment. I then managed to choose 17 books to donate. Evan was happy.

After I got back from the the DMV, I decided to take the new car for a spin and get some cheap Christmas decorations that would be cat-friendly...

All in all, I didn't sit down to write until 11:30, and then I only did 1k. It felt pretty good, I'll admit...But today's another day. :)

I love that you drive a non-American car :)

The car tags, I hear you. Getting the tags always stresses me out. Glad you have the new wheels at your disposal though!

I LOLd at the South Carolina sign. But then i realized that it would be ridiculously easy for me to drive ten mintutes and see the "Leaving Minnesota" and "Welcome to Wisconsin" signs. Well at least for us, you have to cross a large river to get to Wisconsin, so it can't really sneak up on you

Today is a BETTER day!

And, yeah, I'm kinda in a tizzy over what to do about all my gorgeous, expensive Christmas decorations that I LOVE...with a 4 month old kitten in the house. She's a terror. NO WAY will she leave a tree and ornaments alone, let alone all the other goodies all over the house. *sigh* I don't know what I'm gonna do.
I'll deal with that...back at Tara...tomorrow. ;)

Ugh. Not a fun day at all! But at least you got some work done. Good luck today!

Ugh. Had to get tags for the Big Red Truck a couple of weeks ago...bought it in a different state five miles away...and the dealer forgot to send us a check for the tax reciprocation thing, (what, like noone in Kentucky ever bought a truck in Ohio before?) and then I had to get it inspected, and then...
so yeah. Feelin' your pain.

We all have our days and that just wasn't one for you. I am glad that you did get to sit down and do some writing. You have been working very hard on NaNo. Keep up the great work.

I can not understand why it is impossible to have all the tag/license/tax offices in one frikkin building! That drives me insane, going between them all.

Hope today is better for you! And great job on the word count so far!!

You're rockin' on your word count! Even with a slight detour...

Been there, done that with the driving. Only I wound up in Maryland, instead of the Virginia I wanted to be in. Oh well.

Your word count is looking very healthy--keep up the good work! :)

Some days you just have to take it easy on yourself - especially if you're having a bad day already. You're doing awesome with your NaNo though! :)

Your kitties are sooo cute. Jealous! We're debating whether to adopt some new kitties ourselves or if we should just keep fostering for our SPCA.

OMG you made me LOL!!!! We once drove out of state trying to get to the Asheboro Zoo!!! This was pre-GPS stuff and we had printed off a mapquest map. It was COMPLETELY WRONG!!!

It was funny a day later. But not that day.

You remind me, I need to get my license changed, too! Ugh!!!
