Real-Life BBQ (photos)

In honor of Labor Day and meeting new friends, Karen Gowen is hosting a virtual BBQ party this weekend! The official details are at her blog.

I'd like to welcome all of my new followers who've come over thanks to her! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

I had a very special day yesterday: Husband Evan and I had the distinct pleasure of brunching with DL Hammons (Cruising Altitude) and Nicole Ducleroir (One Significant Moment at a Time) and their wonderful spouses.

DL and his wife were in town for the LSU/UNC game, which was hosted at the Georgia Dome. (Don't understand that? Join the club. Something about Chick-Fil-A.)

Nicole and I are near-neighbors, as I mentioned from the first post in which we had coffee. But this brunch was special, since it included our spouses. We were at the restaurant for over three hours, so I think it's safe to assume we all had a great time!

And it was a beautiful day to cap it off: in the upper 60's when Evan and I arrived, and in the low-80's when we all left, not a cloud in the sky...

The very sunny entrance to the restaurant.

DL and Kim, all geared up for the LSU game!

Trying to figure out where to stand to take the 3-Bloggers photo

Evan told us that the downward angle was a superhero pose, so I tried to look heroic.

Happy Labor Day!

Sounds like an awesome day, and I like the superhero pose too, hehe. That should definitely be your official author pic on publications!

I LOVE that you guys had such a wonderful time together! Y'all look so cute and happy. :)

My favorite picture out of all of them (including Nicole's) is the angled superhero shot! Did Evan climb a tree to get it? Stairs? Anyway, that your arm is up and you're ready to take off into flight is awesome!!

Thank God the deodorant held up, yes?

So glad you guys all had a perfect weather, sunny, happy day of fellowship, fun, food and writer friends.

Love,
Lola

Superhero shot? But...but...where's the spandex?

*cough*

Looks like a lovely time was had by all, despite it being too early for anything other than mimosas or bloody marys. Were any of those involved? I do hope so.

I'm so jealous! How fun to meet up with a blog buddy. The longer I do this the more friends I make and I never get to meet them! *whine whine*

I'm jealous too! I've never met any of bloggy buddies in real life. Hopefully one of these days... Looks and sounds like you all had a fabulous time :)

What a day it was! But it left me conflicted. On one hand, I'm having so much fun strutting around the blogosphere taunting "look what I got to do....look what I got to do", but on the flip side those three hours went by so quickly and now I have to resign myself to the fact that I've met these wondeeful people and the best I'm ever gonna do is steal a few meager hours in their company every couple of years or so. *Sigh* At least we have the internet.

Summer, you and Evan are "Good People"!

Popped over from KarenG's BBQ. It has been a great weekend for blog discovery and reading.

Looks like you and fellow bloggers had a lovely visit. Love the superhero pose by the way.

Summer, I''ve been cyber-buddies with Nicole and D.L. for a while, and heard about your wonderful meeting, so I thought I would say hello. I can only imagine how nice it must be to actually get to hang out with people that we get to know on-line.
I love the fall theme you've got here. I live in the central valley of California where it gets over 100, so I do not complain between October and May because I know what's coming!
Take care,
-James
